 Olivier and Urbina to Play for Doubles Championship; Potgieter Advances to Semifinals

WACO, Texas - Texas A&M's duo of Sheri Olivier and Nazari Urbina will play for the doubles championship at the HEB Baylor Invitational on Sunday after winning two matches today at the Baylor Tennis Center. In addition, Elzé Potgieter won two matches to advance to the semifinals in singles.

Olivier and Urbina, who eliminated the No. 1 seed in the round of 16 on Friday, defeated Catalina Cruz and Paula Dinuta of North Texas, 8-1, today in the quarterfinals and then knocked off teammates Stephanie Davidson and Morgan Frank, 8-6, to reach the finals.

Potgieter, the No. 3 seed in singles, will face No. 6 seed Abigail Guthrie of Ole Miss after defeating Irina Paraschiv of North Texas, 6-3, 6-3, and then eliminating Aggie teammate Nazari Urbina, 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 in the quarterfinals.

Guthrie defeated A&M's Lauren Santacroce, 6-4, 6-4, in the quarterfinals to advance.

Frank and Olivier both fell in the singles round of 16.

Play resumes Sunday morning at the Baylor Tennis Center.
