No. 6 Aggies Close Out Regular Season Against Cougars, Mean Green
Feb. 4, 2010
The No. 6 Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team will close out its regular season schedule with a road trip to Houston on Friday and a home dual against North Texas on Saturday. The Aggies will battle the Cougars at 5 p.m. on Friday and then return to College Station for a 1 p.m. dual meet against the Mean Green at the Student Recreation Natatorium. The 5-1 Aggies have been dominant since their last trip to the UH Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium that resulted in an A&M team victory in the Cougar Classic last November. Since that meet the Aggies have won four straight dual meets by an average of 48 points. "It's our last chance to race before the Big 12 Championships," head swimming coach Steve Bultman said. "We're going to swim them in a lot of the races that they will swim at conference, but we'll also try some different things. It's an opportunity for us to finalize some of our decisions for our plan for the Big 12 Championships, and it's a big help for us to see them in these two meets." On Saturday, the Aggies will honor its 2010 senior class who will be competing in their final regular season home meet against UNT. Being honored are Alia Atkinson, Ella Doerge, Melissa Hain, Haley Haynes, Kristin Heiss, Renee Iserman, Rebekah Love, Emily Neal, Emily Watson, Julia Wilkinson and Sarah Woods.
"This group of seniors has made a huge impact on the program both in the pool and in the classroom," Bultman said. "It's been rewarding to watch them work hard and compete over the years and see their improvement." |
