Women's Golf Signs Two Standouts
Nov. 17, 2009
COLLEGE STATION - Natalie Reeves of Euless, Texas, and Chelsea Mocio of Fort Worth have signed national letters-of-intent to play college golf at Texas A&M, Head Coach Trelle McCombs said Tuesday. The No. 2-ranked senior in Texas, Reeves was the Class 5A state runner-up as a junior at Trinity High School last spring. She advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2007 and 2008 Texas Women's Amateur Championships, and participated in the 2008 U.S. Women's Public Links. Reeves also qualified for the 2008 and 2009 U.S. Girls' Junior Championships and is ranked No. 91 nationally by Golfweek. She is the daughter of Ross and Stacy Reeves of Euless. "Natalie is a dynamic player," McCombs said. "She hits the ball a mile off the tee and pretty darn straight most of the time. Natalie is one of those players who will come in and make an impact right away. We are very excited to have her join the Aggie family". Mocio won the Class 4A state championship last spring as a junior at Arlington Heights High School. She has posted six top-10 finishes in AJGA events and qualified for the 2009 U.S. Girls' Junior Championship. She is the daughter of Dan and Shelly Mocio of Fort Worth. "We are ecstatic to have Chelsea join our team next fall," McCombs said. "She is a great little player that hasn't reached her peak yet. I know Chelsea will come in and make an impact right away and will continue to develop her skills. We look forward to having her join us."
