No. 16 Aggies in Second Place at Onion Creek

AUSTIN - No. 16-ranked Texas A&M was in second place Monday when second-round play was halted because of darkness at the Challenge at Onion Creek at Onion Creek Country Club. The second round will be completed Tuesday at 7:30 a.m., followed immediately by the final round. The Aggies (+2) trail leader San Francisco (-10) by 12 strokes. Both teams had only a handful of holes remaining when played was stopped. A&M trailed San Francisco by 21 strokes after the morning round, but made up nine strokes with a four-under-par total in the second round when play was stopped. A&M senior Julia Boland is in third place individually at three-under through 32 holes, including a three-under 67 in the morning round. San Francisco's Tinna Johannsdottir leads at six-under while teammate Natasha Podmore is in second at four-under. A&M senior Ashley Freeman is tied for 10th at one-over, junior Sarah Zwartynski (+2) is tied for 19th, freshman Sarah Beth Davis (+4) is tied for 34th and freshman Chloe Garner (+8) is tied for 64th. Freeman and Zwartynski are both three-under in the second round with three holes to play. Washington State is in third at 10-over, followed by host Texas State (+13), Augusta State (+13), Texas (+13), Iowa State (+14), Texas-San Antonio (+14), Illinois (+15), Indiana (+16), Kennesaw State (+17), Baylor (+18), Wisconsin (+21), Arkansas-Little Rock (+21), Texas Tech (+21), Nebraska (+23), Kentucky (+25), Michigan (+26), Iowa (+28), Boise State (+38) and Missouri (+41).
