COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Seven members of the Texas A&M men's tennis team will compete at the University of Texas Invitational to be held on Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center in Austin, Texas.

The Aggies will be represented at the three-day tournament by junior Kayvon Karimi (Dallas, Texas), junior Calon Alpar (Austin, Texas), junior Jack Seider (Austin, Texas), junior Patrick Dean (Dallas, Texas), freshman Alberto Bautista (McAllen, Texas), freshman Beau Blackshear (Brentwood, Tenn.) and freshman walk-on Sameer Patwardahn (Mumbai, India).

The tournament will feature two 32-player singles draws and one 32-team doubles draw. A&M is one of 11 schools participating this weekend next to host Texas, Baylor, Marquette, Tennessee, St. Edward's, Lamar, UT Pan American, Rice, UTSA and UT Arlington.

"This will be another strong tournament for us to compete in," Texas A&M head coach Steve Denton said. "It will be a test for our younger players, while we rest some of our players who competed this week in the Wilson/ITA Texas Regional. It's an opportunity for them to get some additional work in and show us what they can do leading into the spring season."

Several players featured in the Campbell/ITA preseason singles rankings are scheduled to play in the top singles draw including second-ranked John-Patrick Smith of Tennessee and sixth-ranked Dimitar Kutrovsky of Texas.
