SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS (AP) - Bryan Davis had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Josh Carter sank a big 3-pointer for Texas A&M in a 77-71 win over Kent State at the South Padre Invitational on Saturday.

B.J. Holmes added 15 points for the Aggies (5-1), who were coming off their first loss Friday to Tulsa. Carter's 3-pointer with 35 seconds left pushed Texas A&M's lead to five.

Al Fisher scored 17 of his 24 points for Kent State (3-2) in the second half.

Texas A&M outrebounded Kent State 35-19.

*A season-high five A&M players scored in double figures in the win against Kent State.

A&M Notes: *Sophomore guard B.J. Holmes scored a career-high 15 points against Kent State, the second time in three games that he's set his career best. Holmes started the season 0-of-8 on three-pointers, but has since made 9-of-15.

*A&M has won 50 straight regular-season non-conference home games going into Friday's game against Arizona in the Big 12/Pac 10 Hardwood Series.

*Junior forward Bryan Davis was named to the all-tournament team at the South Padre Island Invitational after scoring 15 points with 13 rebounds against Kent State for his second career double-double.

*Junior guard Donald Sloan had 7 assists and just 1 turnover against Kent State. For the season, Sloan has had 24 assists and only 7 turnovers.

*Freshman forward David Loubeau scored a career-high 12 points with 8 rebounds against Kent State, making 6-of-6 from the field. He also added 2 assists, 1 block and 1 steal.

*Senior Josh Carter scored 13 points against Kent State, giving him 1,182 in his career, which moves him into 17th on the A&M list.

*The Aggies bounced back from shooting a season-low 30.9 percent from the field on Friday against Tulsa to making a season-best 57.1 percent on Saturday against Kent State.
