Raley Named to Louisville Slugger All-America Team

Full release from baseballnews.com TUCSON, Ariz. - Texas A&M sophomore Brooks Raley was named to the Louisville Slugger Division I All-America second team by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, it was announced Thursday. He becomes the 47th all-American in school history and the first Aggie underclassman to be so honored since Jason Meyer in 2004. A native of Uvalde and a consensus first-team All-Big 12 selection, Raley is one of the nation's top two-way players. The sophomore has been A&M's Friday-night starter all season long and leads the squad with a 7-2 record, 3.74 ERA and a .230 opponent average. Raley has punched out 93 batters and ranks among the national leaders in several categories. He has also hit in the lineup for essentially the entire season, compiling a .315 batting average, leading the team in four offensive categories and topping the Big 12 with 25 stolen bases. Raley joins Missouri's Kyle Gibson and Oklahoma's J.T. Wise as Big 12 representatives on the second team. Kansas State's A.J. Morris was a first-team selection. Texas pitcher Austin Wood was named to the third team. San Diego State pitcher Stephen Strasburg was named Collegiate Baseball's National Player of the Year.
