Wally Moon Award winner, given to the player who showed the most improvement from September to the end of the season ... had 10 multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games ... season-high 10-game hit streak from April 23-May 13 (.395, 2 HR, 15 RBI, 11 runs) ... played summer ball for the Beatrice (Neb.) Bruins in the M.I.N.K. League ... hit .345 with seven home runs, 45 RBI and a .556 slugging percentage ... also played in the Midnight Sun game in Alaska.

AT DULLES HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters for coach Clinton Welch at Dulles High School (Sugar Land, Texas) ... played centerfield and was a two-time team captain in 2004 and 2005 ... three-time first-team all-district honoree (freshman, junior and senior); second-team honors as a sophomore ... hit over .350 all four seasons with 13 career home runs and 68 career stolen bases ... helped lead Vikings to area finals as a freshman (2002) and regional quarterfinals as a sophomore (2003) ... played in the Area Code Games and Houston-Area All-Star Game ... earned an Academic Excellence Award during senior season (2005) ... played summer ball for the Houston Kyle Chapman team which won the Perfect Game U-17 National Championship ... also lettered as a two-guard in basketball as a junior (2003-04).
