Texas A&M Invitational high school schedule adjusted

Condensed races change start times for high school division

College Station - The time frame for high school races within the Texas A&M Invitational has been adjusted since a couple of divisions will be condensed into one. The meet, held Friday at Penberthy Intramural fields, will now begin at 5 p.m. with a high school boys race that combines the 5A-4A field with the 3A-2A-1A group.

The start times for the University races will remain the same, 6:30 p.m. for University men and 7:10 p.m. for University women.

High schools that need to adjust entry status may do so from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Penberthy building, the same location for packet pick-up. The after effects of Hurricane Ike made for limited high school entries from the 2,000-plus preps scheduled to run during last weekend's original date. As a result two high school divisions were combined into one race for the boys and the girls.

Following is the adjusted time schedule for the Texas A&M Invitational:

5:00 p.m. High School Boys - (5A thru 1A) 5000m

5:30 p.m. High School Seeded Boys 5000m

6:00 p.m. High School Seeded Girls 5000m

6:30 p.m. University & unattached Men 8000m

7:10 p.m. University & unattached Women 5000m

7:45 p.m. High School Girls - (5A thru 1A) 3200m

8:10 p.m. High School JV boys 3200m

8:30 p.m. High School JV girls 3200m
