STUDENTS:

Currently registered Texas A&M students with a basketball-inclusive sports pass will be admitted at the north and south student entrances beginning at 4 p.m. by presenting their legible student ID at the gate.

In addition, student walkup and guest tickets will be available for purchase beginning at 4 p.m. at the ticket windows at Reed Arena.  Student walk-up and guest tickets are $10 each with a limit of one per student.  Overall limits may be imposed on student walk-up and guest tickets based on demand from student sports pass holders.  

Students wearing this year's Reed Rowdies shirt will be admitted into the arena beginning at 3:45 p.m. from the North Entry to Reed Arena.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - For the first time in school history the defending national champion will make a trip to Aggieland as Saturday the Texas A&M men's basketball team hosts Kentucky at Reed Arena in a 5 p.m. contest.

The game will be televised nationally by ESPN with Mark Jones and Jimmy Dykes calling all the action. Additionally, radio coverage will be provided by the Texas A&M Sports Network (locally in Bryan/College Station on WTAW 1620 AM) and ESPN Radio (Sirius & XM channel 85).

Texas A&M is coming off a 55-49 overtime victory at Mississippi State on Wednesday to climb back into the win column and improve to 13-7 on the year with a 3-4 mark in SEC play.

Junior guard Fabyon Harris and sophomore forward Kourtney Roberson played critical roles in the win in Starkville as Harris notched a game-high 17 points while Roberson fell just short of his second double-double of the year. The Arcadia, La., native finished with eight points and 12 rebounds to go along with a career-best six steals against the Bulldogs.

Additionally, senior guard Elston Turner scored 11 points at MSU to mark the 41^st time in 52 career games at Texas A&M that he's reached a double-digit point total.

The most notable of Turner's double-digit point games came during the Aggies' last contest against Kentucky, which resulted in an 83-71 A&M victory in Lexington, Ky., on Jan. 12.

The Sacramento, Calif., native's outing against the Wildcats stands as one of the most outstanding single game performances in Aggie basketball history as he made an incredible 14-of-19 shots from the floor, including six 3-point buckets, to finish with a career-high 40 points.

Turner's scoring outburst marked just the third time an opponent had scored 40 or more points against the Wildcats at Rupp Arena, joining LSU's Chris Jackson and Navy's David Robinson. It was also the first 40-point game by an Aggie since Don Marbury notched 41 at Baylor on Jan. 5, 2013.

Since the loss to A&M, the Wildcats have won four of five contests to enter this weekend with a 14-6 overall record and a 5-2 mark in SEC contests.

UK features five players that average double-digits in points on the year with freshmen Archie Goodwin and Alex Poythress leading the way, averaging 15.1 and 13.2 points per game, respectively.

Freshman center Nerlens Noel paces the 'Cats in rebounds with an average of 9.3 per contest and leads the entire SEC with 95 blocked shots.

At halftime of Saturday's contest, representatives of the AT&T Cotton Bowl will be on hand to present Texas A&M football coach Kevin Sumlin with the AT&T Cotton Bowl trophy and members of the Wounded Warrior program will be recognized.

Additionally, the SEC Western Division Champion Texas A&M women's soccer team will be honored and the Aggie baseball team will throw t-shirts to fans.

TEXAS A&M-KENTUCKY SERIES NOTES

• Saturday will be just the fifth meeting between the Aggies and Wildcats ... The all-time series between the schools is tied at 2-2.
• The two schools first met during the 1941-42 season when the 'Cats earned a 49-29 victory.
• Earlier this season on Jan. 12, the two teams faced off at Lexington's Rupp Arena with A&M earning an 83-71 victory ... It was the first-ever home SEC loss for the Wildcats under head coach John Calipari.
• A&M's Billy Kennedy is 1-0 against Kentucky.
• Kennedy's head coaching counterpart, UK's John Calipari, is 1-1 all-time against the Aggies ... LAST TIME OUT AGAINST KENTUCKY

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Elston Turner scored 40 points for Texas A&M, and the Aggies topped Kentucky on the road on Jan. 12, 83-71, for their first road conference win as members of the Southeastern Conference.

The loss was the first home conference loss in John Calipari's tenure as Kentucky's coach. Kentucky had won 24 straight home SEC games before Saturday.

Texas A&M held an advantage as large as nine points early in the second half, but the Wildcats took a lead with a 12-2 run, a lead they stretched to four points.

With the game tied at 63 with 4:04 to play, Aggies guard Fabyon Harris hit a jumper to help send them on a string of 11 unanswered points to close out the game. Harris scored nine points in that stretch for the Aggies and finished with 14.

Turner, a 6-foot-5 senior whose previous career high was 26, had 25 points at halftime for the Aggies. He was 10-of-13 from the field in the first half, including a perfect 7-of-7 from inside the 3-point line. Turner was considerably cooler for most of the second half, but he came alive in the game's final 7 minutes.

He hit a pair of 3-pointers to stop Kentucky runs, the second of which closed a four-point Kentucky lead - the Wildcats' largest lead of the game - and ended the Wildcats' last run of the game.

Nerlens Noel finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds, seven blocks, six assists and four steals for the Wildcats.

Archie Goodwin led the Wildcats with 17 points.
