COLLEGE STATION, Texas-The Texas A&M athletics program is currently in 24th

have finished in the Top 10 the past three years in the final year-end rankings
(6th in 2009-10, 8th in 2010-11 and 9th in
2011-12).
"We are extremely proud of the success our student-athletes and coaches have
had this fall," Texas A&M Director of Athletics Eric Hyman said. "Our fall
sports have gotten the athletic department off to a wonderful start in our
inaugural season in the SEC. This first year in the SEC has been so exciting
and we look forward to continuing the positive momentum throughout the rest of
the year."
The women's soccer team advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Championships to
earn 64 points while the women's volleyball team each reached the second round
of the NCAA Championships to earn 50 points respectively. The men's and women's
cross country teams each earned 29 points while Henry Lelei became the first
Aggie to win an SEC Individual Conference title by winning the men's cross
country championship. The Aggie football team is ranked No. 9 in the BCS standings
and will face Oklahoma in the 2013 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic on Jan. 4.
The fall sports recognized were men's water polo, women's volleyball, men's and
women's soccer, women's field hockey and men's and women's cross country. The
final fall standings will be released on Jan. 10 after the FCS National
Championship and various bowl games.
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup takes into consideration the top 10 female
