COLLEGE STATION,
Texas - Texas A&M equestrian senior Carey Nowacek will represent the
Aggies in the first-ever American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Collegiate
Horsemanship Challenge beginning Wednesday in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The event is a part of the AQHA World Championship Show and features
the top horsemanship riders from different colleges and universities around the
country, beginning with the preliminary round tomorrow. The San Antonio, Texas,
native will compete as a National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA)
student-athlete. Eight riders from the NCEA and eight riders from the
Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) will fight for four berths in the
event's finals on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
Nowacek is 4-1 on the season with the Aggies, who host South
Carolina Friday at 2 p.m. at the Brazos County Expo Complex in Bryan. To learn
