Meredith Collier is in her fifth year with the Texas A&M
athletic department after joining the staff as a student worker in August 2008.
In her three years as a full-time employee, Collier has handled the publicity
and coverage of two Big 12 Championships and two NCAA postseason runs with the
Aggie soccer team. She has also worked as the assistant sports information
director for the A&M softball team as the Aggies tackled two NCAA
Tournament berths, including a Super Regional run in 2011. Collier has hosted
three NCAA postseason events, including the 2011 NCAA Soccer First Round and
the 2011 and 2012 NCAA College Station Softball Regionals.
Prior to full-time status, Collier was a student worker in
the sports information department at Aggie Athletics, assisting with soccer and
softball. The Comfort, Texas, native also held internships with Spurs Sports
and Entertainment in San Antonio, Texas, and U.S. Figure Skating in Colorado
Springs, Colo., and was the sports editor for Aggieland yearbook in 2008-09.
Collier got her start in sports information in 2008 as the
primary media contact for the Texarkana Gunslingers, a then-independent
professional baseball team in the Continental Baseball League. She earned her
bachelor’s degree in communication with a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M
in May of 2010.
