Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park is the site of the Texas A&M Baseball Camp and serves as the home to the Texas A&M Aggies . Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park underwent a major renovation that began on June 7, 2011. Some new features of the stadium included an expanded concourse and concessions area, luxury suites, a new press box, club seating, two grass berms, expanded locker rooms and coaches offices, a student athletic center, and extended seating closer to the field. However, the seating capacity was decreased from 7,000 to 5,400 to accommodate the changes (although with standing room only will still hold over 7,000). Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park reopened on February 17, 2012 for the first game of the 2012 baseball season.
Video is the newest component of Aggie Baseball Camp. We will be offering two video packgest to campers this year.
• Aggie Instruction - An instructional DVD that will be pre-produced and available for pick-up when you register for camp. The DVD will feature Texas A&M Coaches teaching the same pitching, hitting, defensive, base running and strength & conditioning drills that we use every day to prepare our players for competition in the SEC. Coach will talk through, demonstrate, and explain the methodology of each drill while going over proper technique and coaching points to ensure that you get the most out of practice after you leave camp.
• Aggie Analysis - We use multiple camera angles to take video of your performance hitting on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. Coach will then go through all your video and select a series of clips to breakdown and analyze as if you were having a one-on-one session with a college coach. In your analysis video Coach will use slow motion telestrations and audio analysis to breakdown your swing and mechanics while screen recording it all. At the conclustion of our summer camps a DVD copy of your swing analysis will be mailed to your home. A copy of the Aggie Instruction DVD is also included with the purchase of your Analysis Package, and will be available for pick-up when you come to camp for registration.
To ensure that we are prepared to meet the needs of all campers we ask that you please pre-order any video packages. If you have any questions about Aggie Baseball Camp videos or ordering information, please contact our Video Coordinator, Jae Fadde - firstname.lastname@example.org
What to Bring:
You need to bring baseball related equipment, shoes, cleats, glove, shorts, baseball pants, batting glove, and bat. Overnight campers will need bedding (campers beds very in size from twin to queen), alarm clock and clothing for the dorm. Each dorm suite has a microwave, full-size refrigerator, and furniture. Please feel free to bring snacks and drinks for the dorm suite. Cell phones are allowed at camp. We provide Gatorade, water, and meals depending on what camp you choose.
Meals at Camp:
We provide meals for Camps 3, 4, 6, 7 and 10.
6:1 camper-to-coach ratio • Texas A&M Head Coach Rob Childress and the entire Aggie Baseball staff will provide instruction in camps • Many current and former Aggie Baseball players make up the camp staff, as well as high school and junior college coaches
There is a $100 cancellation fee for all cancellations (for any reason, including medical) made at least one week prior to the camp start date. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing (by fax or email) by 12:00 PM the week before camp starts. No refunds will be given upon expulsion or withdrawal from camp. No camp credits will be issued.
Confirmation Letter and Camp Waiver:
All campers will receive a confirmation letter regarding their admittance to camp, check-in and check-out times, and a camp waiver and medical treatment form. All forms must be turned in by the start of camp for your son to participate. The Texas A&M curriculum is demanding and we want to ensure that all campers are physically able to participate without placing themselves in serious medical danger. It is okay to send a copy of your school’s medical form if it less than one-year old and has been signed by your physician.
Visitor Parking During Camps:
Parents, relatives and/or friends that are helping to register or unload for camp will be allowed to park in the registration areas for a limited amount of time free of charge. However, anyone wishing to stay on campus beyond registration and unloading will be required to purchase a parking permit. For further questions concerning parking on campus, please visit the Transportation Servies Website at Transport.TAMU.edu or call 979-862-PARK.
