Troy is in his fourth year as Senior Scholastic Supervisor at Texas A&M where he works with the football team.
He comes to the Center for Student Athlete Services with nine
years of experience as he was the Academic Advisor at Utah State for the
football, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field,
and men's golf programs before becoming the Academic Coordinator for the
football and men's and women's tennis teams at the University of
Colorado. He also worked for over 5 years as a corrections officer for
the state of Utah's Corrections.
A graduate of Utah State University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree
in sociology, Troy also earned his master's degree in educational
counseling from the University of Phoenix (Ogden, Utah) in 2001. He
lettered twice in football at Utah State as a two-year starter at guard,
and was a team captain as a senior when he earned first-team
All-Academic honors.
Before going to Utah State University Troy earned 1st Team all Western
states as an offensive guard and earned a scholarship to Utah State
University.
He is married to the former Stephanie Gillette and they have four lovely
children, Kailee (12), Noah (10) and Malia (9) and Isiaih (4). Troy is a
member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.
Troy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Los Angeles,
California during his teenage years where he played football and Track
at Cerritos High School.
