2014 Texas A&M Equestrian Summer Camps

NOTE: All camps take place at the new Thomas G. Hildebrand, DVM '56 Equine Complex (3243 F and B Rd in College Station).

Camp 1: Summer Camp I

The camp will include riding instruction depending on your discipline (hunter seat equitation over fences & flat work, horsemanship or reining). Campers will ride twice on Saturday and Sunday will conclude camp with demo rides by each camper. Campers will ride Equestrian Team horses, and tack will be provided. Lunch will be provided Saturday. Snacks & drinks will be available throughout the day.

  • June 7 (Saturday): 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • June 8 (Sunday): 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Participants must be 12-18 years of age.
  • This is a day camp so parents/guardians will need to pick up and drop off daily. We do not provide lodging. Parents may stay to watch.
  • For health & safety purposes, camp participants in Hunter Seat should be competing at a minimum of 2’6.
  • For health & safety purposes, camp participants in Western should have show experience but not necessarily in horsemanship or reining specifically.
  • Hunter Seat riders must wear ASTM approved helmets, breeches and tall boots.
  • Western riders must be in jeans and boots.

This camp is open on a first-come, first-serve basis to any individual who satisfies the grade level and gender requirements set forth in the registration materials. Please note we cannot grant refunds once you have registered.

Camp 2: Elite College-Bound Camp

The camp will include riding instruction depending on your discipline (hunter seat equitation over fences & flat work, horsemanship or reining) and video reviews. e camp will also cover NCAA equestrian rules and regulations, and will end with a mock competition. Campers will ride Equestrian Team horses, and tack will be provided. Lunch will be provided Friday & Saturday. Snacks and drinks will be available throughout camp.

  • June 13 (Friday): 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • June 14 (Saturday): 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • June 15 (Sunday): 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Participants must be in high school or entering in the fall.
  • This is a day camp so parents/guardians will need to pick up and drop off daily. We do not provide lodging. Parents may stay to watch.
