Equestrian Tryout Meeting Set for Sept. 12

The Texas A&M equestrian team will hold a meeting for students interested in joining the squad on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Burkhart Auditorium, located on the northwest corner of Kyle Field.

Any student planning to try out must attend this mandatory meeting. Participants must be full-time female students at Texas A&M and have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. Advanced experience in western horsemanship, reining, hunter seat equitation on the flat or hunter seat equitation over fences is required.

In order to participate in subsequent tryouts, students need to have proof of a sports physical that has been completed in the past six months as well as results from a sickle cell blood test.

Both tests can be performed at the University Health Center or by a family doctor. Forms are not required at the walk-on meeting but will be needed prior to trying out (dates are TBA).
