SAN ANTONIO, Texas --- The Texas A&M men’s swimming and diving team will open its 2013-14 season with a dual meet against Incarnate Word at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Ann Barshop Natatorium on the UIW campus.

The Aggies finished 2013 ranked No. 17 in the dual meet national rankings by the College Swimming Coach Association of America and went on to finish 24th at the 2013 NCAA Championships, which was the program’s 18th straight top 25 national finish.

“The guys have been working and training very hard in the summer,” said head coach Jay Holmes. “We look forward to getting started and racing some good individuals from Incarnate Word. It will be fun to get started and see this group race.”

The Aggies return 19 letter-winners from last year’s squad including senior school record holders Omar Enriquez and Simon Frank. Enriquez owns three records in the distance freestyle: 500 free (4:20.66), 1,000 free (9:06.93), and 1,650 free (15:03.38). The men’s team also returns four swimmers who earned All-American status at the 2013 NCAA Championships: senior Henrik Lindau, senior Kyle Troskot, senior Paul-Marc Schweitzer, and junior Luke Shaw.

Nine newcomers are making their debut as Aggies, including three divers and six swimmers- Hunter Artmann (Austin, Texas), Jacob Gonzales (Spring, Texas), Colton Haffey (Houston, Texas), Tyler Henschel (Sherwood Park, Alberta), Bryan Michaels (Shoreline, Washington), Connor Myerson (Sugar Land, Texas), Or Sabatier (Modi’in-Maccabim-Re’ut, Israel), Robert Stenman (Temple, Texas), and Zachary Stockton (Houston, Texas).
