Disability Information

The Center for Student-Athlete Services in conjunction with Texas A&M University Disability Services, Counseling Center, and local psychologist provides a comprehensive program for students with disabilities. Support services are tailored to each student’s needs.

Beginning with the recruitment process, the Center for Student-Athlete Services Learning Specialists are available to answer any questions regarding psychological testing and university accommodations. The Learning Specialist is also an excellent resource for student-athletes needing referral information, academic and athletic strategies, time management or organizational assistance. The Learning Specialist also works together with the Scholastic Supervisor and coaches to ensure success both academically and athletically.

Texas A&M University Disability Services provides students who have appropriately documented disabilities with the resources needed to perform academically. Services provided may include the following:

  • extended testing time
  • interpreters
  • note-taking
  • reader services
  • scribe services
  • books on tape
  • adaptive technology services

The Texas A&M University Counseling Center provides an array of counseling services ranging from individual sessions to workshops and support groups.

The Center for Student-Athlete Services coordinates the support services for students with disabilities. Assistance is provided regarding registration with Texas A&M University Disability Services, Texas A&M University Counseling Center appointments, and any testing services that may be needed.
