Howdy!

What a fall! As someone said, we're proud to welcome the SEC to Texas A&M and the sports world to Johnny Football! On a personal note, Pauline and I are very proud to be in Aggieland, and greatly appreciate the warm welcome you have given us.

Texas A&M's introduction to the SEC has brought us a top-10 ranked football team with 10 regular season wins, a soccer team that won the SEC Western Division and advanced to the Sweet 16, and a volleyball team that also won the SEC Western Division and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

In addition, numerous individual student-athletes have brought national attention to themselves and Texas A&M. To name just a few: Henry Lelei, who won the SEC and placed fifth in the NCAA cross country championships; Luke Joeckel and Damontre Moore, named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America Team; and swimmer Breeja Larson, who recently broke her own American and NCAA record in the 100-meter breaststroke.

And need I mention a certain freshman? But Johnny Football will tell you, that without his teammates, his record-breaking season would not be possible, and we should remember to celebrate their contributions as well

Congratulations to each of you, the 12th Man, as you also played an important role in this incredible, record breaking season. Kyle Field sold out every game this year, and so many of you joined us on the road, and have been with us in spirit every step of the way. Thank you for making this season one for the history books, and for your support of Texas A&M Athletics through the 12th Man Foundation.

What's next? We will find out on Sunday whether we'll play in the Capital One Bowl (Orlando), the Outback Bowl (Tampa), the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic (Arlington), or the Chick-Fil-A Bowl (Atlanta). And next week we'll turn the Big Apple maroon with the induction of Coach R. C. Slocum into the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame on December 4 and, hopefully, the announcement of an Aggie Heisman Trophy winner on December 8.

Again, thank you for your support of our student-athletes and all of our sports here at Texas A&M. I look forward to the exciting weeks, months and years ahead for Aggie Athletics and the 12th Man.

Gig 'em!
