Senior center Karla Gilbert participated in one of Texas A&M's most important traditions recently, as she received her Aggie Ring. The distinctive Aggie Ring serves as the symbolic link to the Aggie network of former students.
Aggies around the world recognize each other when they see the ring and greet each other as friends. The ring is not given, it must be earned academically.
"I'm very excited," said Gilbert. "It's been a lot of hard work, long nights, and staying at the library to get this ring."
"I'm proud to be a part of this tradition," added Gilbert.
