Women’s Hoops Continue Preparation for Italy

The Texas A&M women's basketball team continues preparations for its upcoming Italy tour, as workouts resume Tuesday inside the Cox-McFerrin Center for Aggie Basketball.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M women's basketball team continues preparations for its upcoming Italy tour, as workouts resume Tuesday inside the Cox-McFerrin Center for Aggie Basketball.

The Aggies initially kicked off their training July 17-19 and are allowed 10 practice dates in advance of their trip. The team has seven practice dates remaining, Aug. 7-9, 11-12 and 14, leading up to its departure for Italy on Thursday, Aug. 16.

The tour takes place Aug. 16-26 and will route A&M through Rome, Florence, Pisa, Venice and Milan on a four-game schedule (games currently set for Aug. 19, 21, 23 and 25). Among the off-the-court highlights will be visits to some of Italy's most scenic and famous landmarks, including The Colosseum, the Vatican City, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Lake Como. It will be the first foreign tour for the program since its European Tour in 2006.
