COLLEGE STATION, Texas-Texas A&M junior Khris Middleton made his intentions official on Monday as he declared himself eligible for the NBA draft.

"After careful consideration, my family and I have decided that I am ready to pursue my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA," Middleton said. "I understand there will be challenges ahead, both on and off the court, and I am confident that Texas A&M has helped prepare me for a number of the challenges I may encounter.  I would like to thank my family, coaches, teammates and all of the students at Texas A&M for making the last three years an unforgettable experience.  I will finish this semester in good academic standing and plan on completing my college degree in the future.  I will always be a proud member of Aggie Nation. Gig 'em!"

An All-Big 12 and all-district selection, Middleton (North Charleston, S.C.) appeared in 87 games and started 72 over his three seasons as an Aggie. He finished his career with 983 points, averaging 11.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Despite playing in just 20 games due to injuries this past season, Middleton ranked second on the squad in points (13.2) and rebounds (5.0).

The NBA draft is scheduled for June 28.
