A&M Selected for Seventh Straight NCAA Championship Appearance
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies were selected to participate in their seventh consecutive NCAA Division I Baseball Championship, extending their school-record string.
The Aggies were tabbed as the No. 2 seed in the in the Corvallis Regional where they will face No. 3 seed UC Santa Barbara in the first day’s action. On the second day, A&M will face either host Oregon State or No. 4 seed UTSA.
It marks the 29th overall appearance for the Aggies in the NCAA Tournament and the seventh time in eight years under the direction of head coach Rob Childress.
Texas A&M (32-27) has never faced UCSB.
The Aggies are 4-4 all-time against Oregon State. The Maroon and White lost to the Beavers twice at the 2009 NCAA Fort Worth Regional.
Texas A&M is 21-9 all-time against UTSA, including an 11-4 victory over the Roadrunners this season.
The winner of the Corvallis Regional will face the winner of the Manhattan Regional in a Super Regional. Teams in the Manhattan Region include Kansas State, Arkansas, Bryant and Wichita State.
