AT BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL
Played for coach Jim Long at Brenhan High School, lettering three years ... helped led BHS to the 2009 4A State Championship and the state semi-finals in both 2009 and 2010 ... as a sophomore (2009) went 8-1 with a 2.46 ERA, earning second team all-district honors ... went 9-2 with a 2.21 ERA while also hitting .333 at the plate during BHS's run to a state title as a junior (2010) ... named first team All-Brazos Valley and second team 4A All-State by the Texas Sports Writers Association ... during his senior season (2011) went 11-2 with a 2.26 ERA en route to first team all-district accolades ... also earned three letters in football as a quarterback, earning district MVP, second team All-Greater Houston and second team All-Brazos Valley honors ... earned THSBCA Academic All-State honors ... a member of the National Honor Society and a KBTX Classroom Champion selection as a senior ... played summer ball with the Brazos Valley Renegades.
