Multi-sport star at Texas High School, playing baseball for Glenn Welch ... led baseball team to the 4A State Championship in 2009 as an outfielder and pitcher ... member of the state championship 4x200 meter relay team ... earned All-America honors and helped track & field squad to state title ... an Academic All-State selection ... student council president … also recruited by Ole Miss, North Carolina, Kansas, Baylor, Kansas State and TCU ... drafted in the 40th round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
