Hood Receives Class Star Award for Academics
A 4.0 student from Austin, Texas (Westlake High School), Hood is currently a general studies major with aspirations of enrolling in the business honors program in the near future.
Presented by the Texas A&M Class Councils, Class Stars is a university-wide awards program that annually recognizes outstanding members of each class in five separate categories: academics, athletics, leadership, service and spirit. One student per class was selected in each category for a total of 20 awards across the freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior classes.
Athletically, Hood was the only freshman on A&M's 2011 volleyball squad that finished the year 23-8 after advancing to the NCAA Championship second round.
Hood and the Aggies continue their spring exhibition season as they compete at the F.A.S.T. Tournament at Reliant Center in Houston on Saturday, March 31. They conclude the spring competition schedule at the College Showcase, to be held at the Dallas Convention Center on Saturday, April 21.
