SEC Bests Big 12 in Par 3 Competition at Pebble Beach

MONTEREY, Calif. - The Texas A&M men's golf team opened its fall season on Friday by pairing with Vanderbilt to defeat Texas Tech and TCU in an SEC vs. Big 12 Par 3 competition at Pebble Beach.

The day began with a practice round at Bayonet Golf Course before the scene shifted to Pebble Beach for the par-three competition. The two SEC teams, led by the Aggies who won five of six matches, combined to shoot 21-under par and defeat the pair from the Big 12, who posted a score of 13-under.

Medal match play begins at the Carmel Cup on Saturday with the Aggies taking part in a morning round on the Bayonet Course against TCU before returning to action during the afternoon with a round against Texas Tech at Pebble Beach.

The event concludes on Sunday as Texas A&M faces its first SEC opponent as a member of the league when it duals Vanderbilt on Pebble Beach.
