Aggie Afternoon on ESPN, April 13th

Texas A&M and the SEC Office, in conjunction with ESPN, announced today that Saturday, Apr. 13 will be an Aggie afternoon on the network with the Spring Football game and softball airing from 2-6 p.m. (CT).

COLLEGE STATION-Texas A&M and the SEC Office, in conjunction with ESPN, announced today that Saturday, Apr. 13 will be an Aggie afternoon on the network. The Aggie football spring game will be televised from 2-4 p.m. central and the Aggie women's softball game against LSU will air from 4-6 p.m. central on ESPN.

"We appreciate the coverage of ESPN and the cooperation of the SEC Office," Texas A&M Director of Athletics Eric Hyman said. "There is a lot of excitement surrounding Parents Weekend on campus and the ESPN cameras will add to the atmosphere."

The Maroon & White Spring Game, presented by Wells Fargo, is free to college age students and under, while adult general admission tickets are $5. Fans are encouraged to go to AggieAthletics.com or 12thManFoundation.com and click on tickets to purchase tickets ahead of the game and avoid lines prior to the event.

The Aggies, led by head coach Kevin Sumlin, are coming off of an 11-2 record and a final ranking of No. 5 in the 2012 national polls. Heisman Trophy quarterback Johnny Manziel returns along with All-American offensive lineman Jake Matthews and four other starters on the offensive side of the football. The Aggie defense returns five starters with linebacker Steven Jenkins leading the way among the top tackling defenders with 78 stops and defensive back Toney Hurd, Jr. right behind with 67 tackles.

Aggie softball head coach Jo Evans has the Texas A&M softball team off to a blistering 22-1 start and a national Top 5 ranking. Aggie pitcher Mel Dumezich is 15-0 in the circle and has thrown three no-hitters this spring.

In addition to the softball and football games on Saturday, Apr. 13, the Aggie baseball team will host Mississippi State in a baseball game beginning at 12:30 p.m. central on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
