A&M's Michael Preble earns double gold at NACAC
Also representing Texas A&M were Sam Humphreys and Prezel Hardy, Jr., who each earned silver medals in the competition.
Preble won the 800 meters in 1:48.69 over Tayron Reyes (1:49.09), Casimir Loxsom (1:49.35), and Richard West (1:49.62).
Later in the meet Preble ran on the USA 4 x 400 relay that clocked a winning time of 3:03.81 to claim gold over a 3:04.33 by the Bahamas. Running with Preble on the relay were James Harris, Chris Vaughn and David Verburg.
Hardy, Jr. recorded a career best time of 20.40 as the silver-medalist in the 200 meters, following the 20.22 posted by the winner, Canada's Tremaine Harris. Keith Ricks, the other U.S. sprinter, picked up the bronze with a 20.50 clocking.
In the men's javelin the U.S. tandem of Tim Glover and Humphreys repeated their 1-2 finish from the NCAA Championships. Glover, of Illinois State, won gold with a toss of 256-10 (78.28) while Humphreys mark of 252-9 (77.04) earned him the silver medal.
