GLASGOW, Scotland --- A trio of Texas A&M swimmers will be competing in the 2013 Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool as Team USA takes on the European All-Stars at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre on Friday and Saturday.
Representing Texas A&M in the prestigious event are seniors Cammile Adams (Cypress, Texas) and Breeja Larson (Mesa, Ariz.) and junior Sarah Henry (Garner, N.C.). The U.S. roster of 34 swimmers features 17 Olympians and 12 gold medalists. Twenty-three Team USA members represented the U.S. at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, while 25 team members will be competing in their first Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool.
The European All-Stars will feature 38 swimmers, including the likes of Olympic medalists Yannick Agnel of France, Michael Jamieson of Great Britain and Ranomi Kromowidjojo of The Netherlands.
The Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool is a made-for-television event, designed to showcase the sport’s most exciting swimmers in a short-course meters format. This year’s event will be the sixth Mutual of Omaha Duel in the Pool in the history of USA Swimming, with past Duels held in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011. The U.S. is undefeated and holds a 5-0 record in the event’s history.
Day one of the meet is slated for Friday at 1 p.m. CT, followed by the conclusion of the meet Saturday at 8 a.m. CT. NBC will nationally televise the meet Sunday from 3-5 p.m. CT.
