COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M soccer freshman Meghan Streight was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week, the publication announced Monday.
Streight (McKinney, Texas) has started in all 22 games for the Aggies this season. The defender helped A&M to a pair of shutouts and a conference title last weekend at the Big 12 Tournament, taking four shots, two of them on frame, over the course of three matches. The freshman and the Aggie backline held opponents to just over half the shots taken by A&M during the tournament, including just three shots on goal taken by No. 1 seed Oklahoma State during the championship final.
Streight played all 290 minutes for the Aggies this weekend as the team won its 12th Big 12 title in San Antonio. This is the first weekly honor for the freshman, who was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament Team, the All-Big 12 second team and the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team. Streight was also ranked No. 33 on the TDS Freshman Top 100 List.
The No. 3 seed Aggies host Louisiana State Friday in a 6:30 p.m. NCAA First Round match at Ellis Field. Live audio, video and stats will be available on AggieAthletics.com and all Texas A&M students will receive FREE admission with proof of ID.
