COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M soccer player Rachel Lenz was named to the Soccer America All-Freshman team, the organization recently announced.

The freshman defender from Round Rock, Texas, was named to the first team after starting in 22 of the Aggies' 23 matches. Lenz led the defense in allowing only 296 shots on the season, compared to 468 taken by A&M. She scored her first career goal vs. Virginia Tech (Aug. 27) and netted penalty kicks in shootouts vs. Colorado in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal (Nov. 3) and against North Dakota State in the NCAA Tournament first round (Nov. 12).

Lenz adds the award to a list of accolades this season. She was the only freshman named to the All-Big 12 first team, and was also selected to the Big 12 All-Newcomer team.
