Coached by Scott Peach at Arlington High School ... named the district's Offensive Player of the Year as a senior (2009) after throwing for 3,145 yards and 40 touchdowns against just six interceptions ... also ran for 733 yards and 12 scores ... was an honorable mention allstate pick and the district's co-MVP as a junior (2008), racking up 3,017 passing yards and 29 touchdowns, while running for 328 yards and nine scores ... threw for nearly 6,900 yards and 72 TDs over high-school career ... chose Texas A&M over offers from Arkansas and Texas Tech.
