COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women’s golf team travels to Greenville, S.C. this weekend to take on the field at the Lady Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman University on the Furman University Golf Course.

“The team is certainly ready to get back to the course this week,” Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs said. “We showed a lot of focus getting prepared for the tournament in South Carolina.”

In addition to the Aggies, the field consists of Clemson, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Florida State, Furman, George Regents, Georgia State, Houston, Kennesaw State, Nova Southeastern, Samford, Southern Miss, UNC Wilmington, UNC Greensboro, Wisconsin and Wofford.

The maroon and white clad lineup will consist of Chelsea Mocio (Sr.), Katerina Ruzickova (Sr.), Bianca Fabrizio (Fr.), Thanya Pattamakijsakul (Fr.) and Andrea Jonama (Fr.). Sophomore Alex Neal will compete as an individual.

“I am excited to see what all three freshman can do in the line-up as well as the leadership from the two seniors,” McCombs said. “The group is looking forward to playing the course and competing this weekend.”

Texas A&M’s Monica Welsh owns one of only four hole-in-ones in Lady Paladin Invitational history on the eighth hole in the 1981 tournament.

Round one of the tournament begins Friday at 8:00 a.m. (CT) with a double tee start. Live scoring for the event can be found at GolfStat.com.
