Aggies to Contend at Mercedes-Benz Collegiate
COLLEGE STATION, Texas-The No. 25 Texas A&M women's golf team competes at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships this weekend at the Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn.
The 16th annual tournament will be hosted by the University of Tennessee. The course is a typical par-72, stretches 6,447 yards and has hosted NCAA Championships and PGA Cup matches in the past.
The Aggies are fresh off their eighth-place tie at the Liz Murphey Fall Preview in Athens, Ga., this past weekend, the same tournament in which senior Mary Michael Maggio rallied from 15th place individually on Saturday to finish as the field's top individual medalist. She recorded an impressive five-under-par during the third round and tallied a final score of 213 (-3).
In addition to Maggio, the Aggies are represented by senior Sarah Beth Davis, juniors Chelsea Mocio and Natalie Reeves and sophomore Patricia Garcia.
The first round will begin Friday at 8 a.m. (CT), with the Aggies teeing off from the first hole alongside golfers from Purdue and Furman. Live scoring for the event is available at GolfStat.com.
