Boosted by a top 10 finish at the 2011 NCAA Championships, the Texas A&M women’s golf team moved into the final top 25 rankings by Golfstat and Golfweek.
The Aggies, who were not in either top 25 prior to the NCAA Championships, finished No. 20 in the Golfstat Relative Ranking and No. 24 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings after a seventh place finish at nationals on their home track of the Traditions Golf Club.
Fielding a youthful lineup that featured just one upperclassman in senior Sarah Beth Davis and Susy Grunden and freshmen Katerina Ruzickova and Natalie Reeves. The NCAA Aggies posted a 72-hole score of 1,191 and 39-over par, which tied for second-best in school history.
Ruzickova capped off a record-setting freshman season by tying for sixth place, which is the highest finish ever by an Aggies at the NCAA Championships. Ruzickova set freshman school records for scoring average (73.12) and par or better rounds (13), which both rank No. 4 overall among all players at A&M.
