Aggie Women’s Golf to Take on Stacked Field at PING/ASU Invitational
TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 22 Texas A&M Women’s Golf team is set to face-off against 10 Top-25 teams at the PING/ASU Invitational held at the ASU Karsten Golf Course on the Arizona State University Campus.
“Karsten is a great venue to play,” Head Coach Trelle McCombs said about this weekend’s venue. “It really tests your game, but it does provide opportunities to go out there to put together a quality round.”
The Aggies return to action following a seventh place finish at the SDSU Farms Invitational almost two weeks ago. Junior Katerina Ruzickova looks to continue her strong play following back-to-back top-10 finishes in her last two events, a seventh place finished at SDSU and a tie for third at the Texas A&M/UTSA Shootout.
“We plan on going out tomorrow and putting ourselves in good position after the opening 18 holes,” McCombs added about the group set to face-off with the stacked field. “This group is primed to score tomorrow and allow us an opportunity to really test ourselves against a great field.”
The first round of the tournament will begin Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. (CT). Texas A&M is paired with No. 3 Alabama and Colorado and are set to tee off beginning at 10:40 a.m. (CT).
“We have been paired with Alabama and Colorado this season,” McCombs said following the practice round on Thursday. “We will not be focusing on the pairing, we will be focused on the course and trying to go low.”
Live scoring for the event will be available at GolfStat.com.
