COLLEGE STATION- Nine Texas A&M women’s basketball games were picked up for television coverage on Thursday, including two games picked up by ESPN2, both of which take place in Reed Arena, against SEC rivals Tennessee and Kentucky.
Tennessee’s first visit to College Station takes place on ESPN2 at 3 p.m. on Jan. 26 as a part of We Back Pat Week. The eight-time national champion Volunteers knocked off the Aggies in Knoxville last season, but Texas A&M won the rematch in the SEC Tournament Semifinal.
The Aggies’ Feb. 23 game against Kentucky is televised by ESPN2 at 1 p.m., in a rematch of the 2013 SEC Tournament Championship game, won by Texas A&M by a 75-67 score. This marks the second straight year that Texas A&M has had two home games televised by ESPN2.
ESPNU televises one Texas A&M game this year, on Dec. 22 at 10 a.m. CT, when the Aggies take on St. John’s in the Maggie Dixon Classic at Madison Square Garden.
FSN televises three of the Aggies’ SEC contests, with road games at Vanderbilt (Feb. 2) and Alabama (Feb. 16) and the home game with LSU (Feb. 9) being picked up by the family of networks.
Three more road games were picked up by various networks, with starting with the Jan. 9 contest at LSU picked up by Cox Sports Television. The Jan. 12 contest at Georgia is broadcast by SEC TV, and the Aggies’ regular season finale at Florida is on Comcast Sports Southeast.
All thirteen games of the SEC Tournament are scheduled for television, as Texas A&M looks to defend its tournament title, with the championship game slated for ESPN.
Further games may be picked up for television as agreements are reached.
Texas A&M opens with an exhibition contest on Nov. 3 against Oklahoma City, and begins its campaign to reach the NCAA Tournament for a ninth consecutive time on Nov. 11 at North Texas. Season tickets are available here.
