Dumezich Reaches 100th Victory Mark
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – With the Aggies’ 6-2 victory over LSU last night, Texas A&M softball senior Mel Dumezich earned her 100th career victory in the Maroon and White.
Dumezich (Whiting, Ind.) tossed nine strikeouts against the Tigers to reach the century mark as the Aggies took the first game of the series. The right-handed pitcher owns a 100-31 record in the circle for a .763 win-loss percentage, and ranks third on the Aggies’ all-time wins list. Dumezich also ranks third with 885 strikeouts thrown and fourth with 843 2/3 innings pitched.
The senior has appeared in 163 contests over the last three-and-a-half years, starting 125 games and tossing 98 complete games. Dumezich owns 32 solo strikeouts and has combined for five more.
Dumezich has also been an asset for the Aggies from the plate, hitting .275 on her career and scoring her 100th run last night. The power hitter owns 45 home runs, a triple and 25 doubles, and has drawn 99 walks.
Dumezich will continue her softball career with the Chicago Bandits of National Pro Fastpitch this summer.
