COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The fourth-ranked Texas A&M women's tennis team closes out its first Southeastern Conference two-match road swing of the season Sunday with a match against 44th-ranked Kentucky. First serve against the Wildcats is slated for 11 a.m. (CT) at the Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Complex in Lexington.

The Aggies are 9-1 overall, 3-0 in SEC play, and enter the match riding a seven-match winning streak after defeating No. 11 Vanderbilt, 4-3, Friday in Nashville. A&M won the doubles point against the Commodores but dropped the first set on four of six singles courts. After sixth-ranked Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar and Cristina Stancu posted straight-set victories at the Nos. 1 and 2 singles lines, respectively, senior Nazari Urbina came from behind to win the last match standing to clinch the win for A&M. It was the second consecutive match in which Urbina posted a clutch win in the last match standing, securing the win for the Aggies.

"One of the many lessons for our team from yesterday's match is that playing classically on the road, meaning at Michigan and now at Vanderbilt rather than a neutral site, is just very difficult," A&M second-year head coach Howard Joffe said. "So when we look at how we match up against Kentucky, we will be playing on their courts, on their conditions, and we'll definitely have to have our wits about us and be ready to fight hard."

The Wildcats have won eight of their last nine matches and are 11-3 overall and 2-1 in SEC play after defeating Missouri, 5-2, Friday in Lexington. Kentucky's only loss during that stretch was a 4-3 setback at No. 50 Arkansas in the Wildcats' SEC opener.
