Aggies Set to Host 2013 SEC Championships

Texas A&M will play host to the 2013 SEC Swimming & Diving Championships beginning Tuesday and running through Saturday at the Student Rec Center Natatorium.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas --- Texas A&M and the Student Recreation Center Natatorium will host the 2013 Southeastern Conference Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships Tuesday through Saturday, the first-ever SEC Championship held in Aggieland.

The five-day meet will consist of 10 a.m. preliminaries each day, followed by finals in the evening session. The evening session on Tuesday starts at 5:30 p.m., while the finals for the rest of the meet begin at 6 p.m. Live results can be accessed at SECdigitalnetwork.com, while 12th Man TV provides free video to fans through the SEC's website.

Both Texas A&M squads enter the meet ranked in the top 20 of the most recent College Swim Coaches Association of America Div. I polls, with the women's team at No. 9 and the men's team ranked in a tie for No. 18. The SEC is one of the deepest and most talented conferences in the nation with a total of 11 ranked teams coming to College Station, six on the women's side and five for the men.

Joining the No. 9 Aggie women will be No. 3 Auburn, No. 4 Tennessee, No. 6 Georgia, No. 8 Florida and No. 18 Arkansas. Georgia has won the last three SEC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.

On the men's side, the No. 18 Aggies will be joined by No. 4 Florida, No. 5 Auburn, No. 11 Tennessee and No. 12 Georgia. Auburn has won the last 16 SEC men's titles.

Coverage of the 2013 SEC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships will be more extensive than ever due to the television agreement with ESPN. ESPNU will air two 90-minute shows, the second time for men's championship coverage and the third for women's coverage. Additionally, ESPN3.com will stream live coverage of the Championships Friday and Saturday night. Texas A&M will stream free live coverage of the prelims each day and the finals on Tuesday - Thursday through 12thMan.TV and secdigitalnetwork.com.
