CHICAGO, Ill. - Texas A&M junior Damontre Moore was named one of six finalists for the Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award.

Moore (Rowlett, Texas) emerged as the country's breakout defender in his third season in Aggieland. His 12.5 quarterback sacks on the season tie for No. 2 in the nation and he ties for third in tackles for loss with 20. The junior paces the team with 80 tackles and could become just the third defensive lineman in the past 40 seasons to lead A&M in tackles. Moore currently leads the Aggies in tackles, solo tackles, sacks, tackles for loss, QB hurries and blocked kicks. He was also named an AFCA All-American earlier this week.

Moore is joined by two other Southeastern Conference players in Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) and Sam Montgomery (LSU). Florida State placed two on the list (Cornelius Carradine and Bjoern Werner), and USC's Morgan Breslin rounds out the finalists.

The Ted Hendricks Foundation will announce the award winner on Dec. 5, before honoring the winner in Miami in the spring of 2013.
