White Tops Maroon in Men’s Basketball Scrimmage
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The new-look Texas A&M men's basketball team made its first appearance on the court at Reed Arena Friday night as the White Team defeated the Maroon Team 49-41 during the Maroon & White Scrimmage.
In front of almost 2,000 fans, seniors Elston Turner and Ray Turner led the way during the two 12-minute halves as they each scored 14 points for the White Team. Additionally, Ray Turner narrowly missed a double-double as the Houston native pulled down nine rebounds in 18 minutes of action.
For the Maroon Team, freshman guard J'Mychal Reese made 5-of-11 field goals to finish with a team-leading 15 points, while junior Keith Davis scored nine points and pulled down eight boards.
The Aggies will host Incarnate Word in an exhibition contest on Nov. 3 before officially tipping off the 2012-13 campaign Nov. 9 against Louisiana Tech at Reed Arena.
