FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Texas A&M women's golf team wrapped up its seasoning-opening tournament on Sunday at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate, finishing with a score of 911 (+47).

The third and final round of the tournament ended with the Aggies in a sixth place tie with Wake Forest. Arizona placed first overall with a score of 889 (+25), with Virginia (+28), Michigan State (+33), Texas (+34) and host Vanderbilt (+36) placing consecutively behind them. Kentucky (+48) placed eighth followed by Georgia (+52), North Carolina (+53), Stanford (+55), Oregon (+58), Tulane (+63), Chattanooga (+74) and Memphis (+119).

“It was a disappointing day for us,” Texas A&M head coach Trelle McCombs said. “We couldn’t get anything going all day and didn’t look like ourselves out there. The girls know they didn’t put their best foot forward but we’ll learn from it and more on.”

Junior Natalie Reeves (76-68-80=224) tied for 13th place individually with a score of 224 (+8). Junior Chelsea Mocio (74-76-76=226) tied for 17th and senior Mary Michael Maggio (76-71-80=227) placed 22nd. Completing the team scores were seniors Susy Grunden (76-78-81=235) and Sarah Beth Davis (78-80-80=238).

The Aggies' next event will be the NCAA Fall Preview Oct. 5-7 in Athens, Ga. Live scoring for the event can be found at GolfStat.com.
