COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M equestrian head coach Tana McKay announced the addition of redshirt freshman transfer Ryann McKinzie to the Aggies' 2012-13 roster.

McKinzie (Wenatchee, Wash.) is a graduate of Eastmont High School and transferred from Wenatchee Valley College. She will compete in reining at A&M.

Under the tutelage of trainer Troy Heikes, McKinzie won championships in levels 1, 2 and 3 at the 2009 Reining by the Bay Non Pro Derby, and took reserve champion honors at the same event in level 4. She was also the Non Pro Champion for all levels at the International Reining Festival, "Loot for Grassroots", the same year.

In 2010, McKinzie was a National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Pro Futurity Finalist, the NRHA Youth Futurity Reserve Champion and an American Quarter Horse Youth Association (AQHYA) Youth World Finalist.

McKinzie and the National Champion Texas A&M equestrian team kick off the season this weekend with a 9 a.m. Saturday show at South Dakota State. To learn more about Texas A&M equestrian, log on to AggieAthletics.com and follow @AggieEquestrian on Twitter.
