Aggies Move into Top 10 in NSCAA Poll
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M Soccer team moved up four spots, to No. 10, in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Poll released on Tuesday morning.
It marks the first time this season that the Aggies are in the Top 10 in the NSCAA rankings. Texas A&M was ranked 14th in the preseason poll and climbed as high as 12th in the August 21 poll.
The Maroon and White are off to a 6-1-0 start on the season with wins over two teams ranked in the Top 25, including current No. 16 Rutgers (4-1) and No. 20 Long Beach State (3-0).
Texas A&M has posted four shutouts in the last five games and has not yielded a goal in the last 336 minutes of action. The Aggies' defense has only allowed three goals in seven games on the season.
The Aggies are currently ranked No. 4 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Tournament 64 ranking released on Monday and No. 17 in the Soccer America ranking released on Tuesday.
Texas A&M makes its SEC debut on Friday evening when the Aggies travel to Baton Rouge for a 7 p.m. contest against the LSU Tigers.
