COLLEGE STATION - After a thrilling 4-3 victory on Friday night over the No. 14-ranked Texas Longhorns, the No. 11-ranked Texas A&M men's tennis team (5-1) heads north to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the Michael D. Case Tennis Center to face off against the No. 23-ranked Tulsa Golden Hurricanes (3-5) at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday February 12.

Tulsa has three victories through eight matches thus far, but all five of their losses have come against teams ranked in the Top 25 nationally including 4-3 losses to San Diego, Cal and Stanford. They took down Wichita State in convincing fashion, 6-1 on Friday night, showing that they are not a team to be taken lightly.

Tulsa is led by their doubles tandem of Ashley Watling and Clifford Marshall, who are ranked No. 3 in the country, and winners of five straight doubles matches. Tulsa also has the doubles pairing of Grant Ive and Tristan Jackson who are ranked No. 37, as well as singles rankings with Watling at No. 83 and Ive coming in at No. 88.

The Aggies are coming off a Texas Cup victory in Houston against the archrival Longhorns 4-3, and looking to continue their winning ways up in Oklahoma. The three seniors Alexis Klegou (7-6, 1-6, 6-4), Colin Hoover (6-2, 6-4), and John Lewis (6-3, 7-6) captured the three singles points for the Aggies, and the doubles tandems of Junior Ore and Jackson Withrow (9-7) and Colin Hoover and John Lewis (8-6) brought home the doubles point. Lewis is on a five match winning streak, and has been instrumental this year in helping the team get the victories in close matches.

The match will be the fourth straight match against a Top 25 opponent for A&M.

The last time that the Aggies and Golden Hurricane's met was in College Station in 2011, with A&M taking the victory 6-1. A&M has won 13 of the last 15 matches against Tulsa.

This match will be the last chance for the Aggies to gain momentum going into the ITA National Team Indoor Championships hosted by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia at the Boar's Head Sports Club on February 17-20. All of the teams in the field of 16 for the tournament are currently ranked in the Top 20.
