Camp is open to boys and girls from the 6th grade to recent 12th grade graduates. This camp is designed to give athletes the opportunity to gain a competitive edge through proper instruction of multi-joint lifts: powerclean, squat, and bench press. Baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball and volleyball athletes will benefit from this camp. |

Typical Workout for Powerclean, Squat, & Bench Press Technique Camp
Listed below is a typical workout plan- 9:00 a.m. - Group assignments and instruction. Warm-up & dynamic flexibility
- 9:20 a.m. - Lifting Sessions begin- groups rotate through 4 training stations: Morning sessions focus on basic technique, safety, and instruction and execution of each lift.
- 9:20 a.m. - Lifting Session 1 - Powerclean basics
- 10:00 a.m. - Lifting Session 2 - Squat basics
- 10:40 a.m. - Lifting Session 3 - Bench Press basics
- 11:20 a.m. - Lifting Session 4 - Video Analysis and Safety Presentation
- 12:00 p.m. - Morning session ends (Lunch Break: 12-1:30 p.m.; Participants bring sack lunch)
- 1:30 p.m. - Warm-up & Dynamic Flexibility
- 1:50 p.m. - Lifting Sessions begin- groups rotate : Afternoon sessions focus on advanced applications, progressions, and modified exercises for each lift to improve power and performance
- 1:50 p.m. - Lifting Session 1 - Cleans advanced techniques and teaching progressions
- 2:30 p.m. - Lifting Session 2 - Squat advanced techniques and teaching progressions
- 3:10 p.m. - Lifting Session 3 - Bench Press advanced techniques and teaching progressions
- 3:50 p.m. - Lifting Session 4 - Video Analysis and Morning Lift Evaluations
- 4:30 p.m. - Camp Session ends
Typical Workout for Strength & Conditioning Camp
Listed below is a typical 2 hour workout plan.- 6:00 p.m. - Warm-up (jump rope drills, speed ladder drills, footwork drills) Active flexibility drills.
- 6:10 p.m. - Abdominal and mid-section conditioning.
- 6:20 p.m. - Lifting sessions, lifting program based on age, and ability level.
- 7:20 p.m. - Plyometrics, jumping drills.
- 7:30 p.m. - Agility drills, speed improvement and conditioning drills.
- 7:55 p.m. - Passive Flexibility/Cool down.
- 8:00 p.m. - Workout session ends
Typical Workout for Speed & Agility Camp
Listed below is a typical 1.5 hour workout plan.
- 6:00 pm - Warm-Up ( Dynamic Mobility, Jump Rope, speed ladder, footwork, Active flexibility)
- 6:10 pm - Abdominal and mid-section conditioning
- 6:20 pm - Power Development Drills: Plyometrics, Med Ball Throws, Accelerations
- 6:40 pm - Running Mechanics Drills: Arm Drive/ Posture Station, Wall Drills/ Knee Drive, Starts
- 7:05 pm - Agility drills, speed drills, and speed conditioning drills
- 7:25 pm - Passive Flexibility/ Cool down
- 7:30 pm - Group Gather/ Closing and Dismissal
Camp Staff
Monty Gibson: (Camp Director) Assistant S & C Coach. 12 years with Texas A&M S & C program. 18 years of coaching experience. Certified S & C coach .
Allen Kinley: Director of S & C for Olympic & Team Sports. 26 years with Texas A&M and a total of 32 years coaching experience. Certified S&C coach and Master S&C Coach.
Vern Banks: Assistant S & C Coach. 14th year with the Aggie Program with 30 years coaching experience. Certified S & C Coach and Master S & C Coach
Raychelle Ellsworth: Assoc. Dir. of S & C for Olympic and Team Sports. 18 years of coaching with Texas A&M. 19 years coaching experience. Former A&M volleyball team member. Certified and Master S&C Coach.
Paul Sealey: Asst. S & C Coach. 12 years with Texas A&M. 15 years coaching experience. Certified S & C Coach.
Additional Staff: to insure a good camper / coach ratio.
The camp or clinic is open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).
