Lindau Named to Sweden's World Uni Games Team
Texas A&M swimmer Henrik Lindau was named to Sweden’s World University Games team and will compete in the prestigious meet in Kazan, Russia July 6-17, the Swedish Swimming Federation, Svenska Simförbundet, announced.
Lindau, a junior from Karlskrona, Sweden, emerged as one of the top sprint freestylers and butterflyers in school history during a breakthrough junior season in 2012-13. Lindau qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles and the 100 butterfly, and earned All-America honors with the Aggies’ 200- and 400-yard freestyle relays. At the 2013 Southeastern Conference Championships, Lindau took fourth place in the 100 fly and fifth in the 50 free.
On A&M’s all-time top 10 lists, Lindau ranks No. 2 in the 100 fly ( 46.50), No. 7 in the 100 free (43.61) and No. 8 in the 50 free (19.75). Lindau is the third Aggie swimmer named to various World University Games teams. Sophomore Sarah Henry will represent the United States in Russia, while freshman Ashley McGregor will compete as a part of Team Canada.
